I joined TechVariable as an intern for three months, back in mid-2018, right after completing my engineering, and it was probably the best decision that I have taken towards my career. And I think it’s not always about the technology or a programming language that shapes our career. It’s about the people we start with. I was fortunate enough to be mentored by a talented group of people here, including the CTO, Mr Utpal Sarmah himself. I joined back later in 2020 as a full-time Programmer Analyst.
“Speaking about my background, I am an Engineering Computer Science graduate and started my professional journey from TechVariable itself.”
Initially, I had no idea about which was the best place for me to start. I mailed the managers of some of the companies in Guwahati for internships in July 2018. The COO of TechVariable, Mr Ratnadeep Bhattacharjee, was the only one to reply. He let me in. When I joined the next day, I could immediately feel the energy in the room. There were only a handful of developers back then, but the passion was at its peak. All of them were so welcoming that I felt the connection right away, and it’s still there, always will be. And also maybe because I share the same name with the CEO, Mr Nilotpal Boruah!!
MERN stack is my speciality. I am primarily skilled in Javascript, Python and have been working as a full-stack developer from the beginning. Since then, I have mainly worked as a full-stack Javascript Engineer. My responsibilities mainly include planning, building, optimizing, and deploying applications in the cloud. I have successfully developed and delivered several web and mobile applications to various clients from India and abroad.
Technology has fascinated me from the very beginning, and that’s the most exciting thing about my job. I love exploring and talking about new technologies. Sometimes, I feel amazed that the projects we do or the applications we make will impact so many people’s lives that were never thought possible before.
Besides work, I like to hang out with my friends, sit in a nice restaurant and eat something good. I also want to play video games and try to play the piano for my recreation.
“One thing I love about TechVariable is that it’s not the people or the place alone. It’s the combination of the two that makes it great. Separate the two, and you might not feel the magic. Well, I miss that now.”
TechVariable is all about sharing knowledge and growing together. However, if someone is self-restraint and reticent, it’s not the place for them.
